On October 11th, the United Nations brings attention to the inequalities and challenges that  young women and girls face daily with the International Day of the Girl Child initiative.

Adolescent girls are an especially vulnerable demographic as they face some of the harshest social, political, and economic barriers and pressures all around the world. According to UNICEF, an adolescent girl dies as a result of violence every ten minutes.

That’s why we’re partnering with the U.S. organization, Fight Like Girls, which was founded by Bre Lasley who is a survivor of a violent attack. She created Fight Like Girls to empower young women and girls to see themselves as more than victims and to use self-defense as mental, physical, and emotional healing.

To support International Day of the Girl and empower young women to fight back, we will be donating 10% of all proceeds from CatFootwear.com on October 11th to Fight Like Girls.
