At Cat Footwear, we believe in championing progress for a better future. And a better future demands a commitment to taking the first of many steps toward addressing the systemic discrimination and racism against the black community. 

We are listening and leveraging our resources in pursuit of progress. We may not always get it right; but we are committed to always moving forward.  We hope you will join us. 

What we are doing at Cat Footwear:

1. Donate Our Dollars

   Donating $10,000 across the Equal Justice Initiative and the Grand Rapids Community Foundation Black Men Building Resources Scholarship, which helps youth in our local community pursue an education in construction and skilled trades. This will be an annual contribution.

2. Commit to Continuous Learning

   Our team can and should be representative of people of color. We will partner with inclusion experts regularly to expand our knowledge and understanding of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion in our workplace.

3. Strength Our Community

   As a brand, we hope that our financial donations help. As people, we want to find ways to give back.  We are creating a Volunteer Time Off program starting in 2020 and our team will donate 500 hours of community-service to champion progress in the communities where we live and work.

4. Create Long-Lasting Partnerships

   We will continue to create ongoing partnershipswith minority-owned construction companies, influencers and non-profits that benefit underserved communities. We will highlight the good these individuals are doing and diversify the people and stories we share in our marketing and content moving forward.
