The 2017 Sundance Film Festival is quickly approaching, and while the current buzz surrounds award season where we celebrate the best in film from 2016, Sundance is already looking forward in search of the next big thing.
The home to where Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence got her first real exposure, where Oscar nominated films Boyhood and Whiplash first premiered in 2014, and where Golden Globe nominated Manchester by the Sea first screened last year; this festival is the place to discover the independent storytellers, out-of-the-box thinkers, and fresh new voices in the wonderful world of film.
From January 19 to 29, distributors like Netflix, HBO, SHOWTIME, and Amazon will leave the sunny warmth of LA to venture into the cold of Park City, Utah to spot the next big film. The 2017 lineup is sure to impress with an array of heart wrenching dramas, controversial docs, and quirky comedies. Oh and let’s not forget the work in which Cate Blanchett plays 13 different characters reciting famous art manifestos. Intrigued yet? We sure are.
You never know what hidden treasures will be unearthed at Sundance, but you can be confident in the clothes that you wear to go digging. That’s where we come in.
Here are a few looks that are perfect for any film-buff attending the festival:
