Restaurant Week Blog Header
Casual

Here at Cat Footwear, we’re no stranger to taking risks to defy limitations and exceed expectations. And we love partnering with others who share in that pioneering spirit. This week happens to be restaurant week and we wanted to highlight some of the our go-to foodie vendors doing some earth-shaking things in a few of our favorite cities.

NYC

For All of the Carbs: Black Seed Bagels

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - Black Seed Bagels

Black Seed Bagels was started by two friends from two different cities who wanted to combine the best that New York and Montreal had to offer. The bagels here are hand rolled for precision and baked in a wood-fired oven until they reach perfect crispness. They offer everything from butter to line-caught tuna salad for spreads, as well as lunch and all-day sandwich options.

Seriously Creative Cocktails: Seamstress

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - Seamstress

Seamstress, an Upper East Side staple, was opened in 2015 by some of the best in the business including our girl, master mixologist Pamela Wiznitzer. It boasts an incredibly talented and passionate staff who create original cocktails nightly, such as Field Runner and Liquid Gold. For the more traditional, there’s also a “50 American Classics” cocktail menu that has everything from a Bloody Mary to the Trinidad Sour.

Carnivorous Cravings: Cherry Point

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - Cherry Point

Cherry Point is a meat lover’s dream come true. The brooklyn spot offers house-made and ethically produced charcuterie selections featuring meat, fish, and cheese boards. They also have a number of seasonal vegetables and put new spins on classic dishes such as steak frites and grilled seafood.

Innovative Sweets: Ovenly

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - Ovenly

Launched in 2010 by two women who met in a book club, Ovenly offers distinct and innovative flavor combinations. After a year of experimenting, the pair created recipes inspired by the Eastern European flavors of their youth. Known for things such as black caraway-chocolate shortbread and currant rosemary scones, the Brooklyn bakery is a New York City favorite.

Chicago

A Little Bit of Everything: Soho House

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - Soho House Chicago

The Allis building, home of the Soho House Chicago, has a long and rich history in the Windy City. One that is honored not just by the refurbishments made to the building by Soho House but in their seasonal club menu and restaurant options. We hosted our Fall Press Tour in the building with rave reviews.

Chicago Classic: The Allis

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - The Allis

Located within the Soho House Chicago, The Allis is named after the family who originally commissioned the building in 1907. A versatile space with menus for every occasion, including afternoon tea, a nod to the Soho House’s English roots. The brunch menu is our favorite, with everything from truffle pizza to egg sandwiches, and bagels made by artisanal baker Ehsan Ganji.

L.A.

Comfort Food: The Lobos

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - The Lobos

The Lobos Food truck is an L.A. favorite serving up American comfort food with a conscience. They use humanely treated meats and organic cheeses, and vegetables whenever possible, as well as minimal amounts of plastic alongside recyclable materials. Their most popular item ordered is their own creation, the Wacho (waffle fries with a variety of nacho toppings).

Sweet but Healthy: Amazebowls

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - Amazebowls

Over at Amazebowls they’ve taken a very playful and unique approach to the latest food trend: smoothie bowls. Their main ingredient is acai berries, an amazonian superfruit that’s packed with antioxidants, but don’t let the healthy aspect fool you, these bowls are as tasty as they are colorful.

Just Sweet (And Savory): CoolHaus

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - CoolHaus

Inspired by the concept of “Farchitecture” (Food + Architecture), Coolhaus debuted at Coachella in 2009 and has expanded from just trucks in L.A. to three brick and mortar locations between L.A. and Dallas, along with a fleet of trucks in NYC, Dallas, and L.A. They have everything from classic vanilla to unexpected combinations like peking duck, pizza, and salad inspired ice cream flavors.

Load Up the Carbs: Mr Holmes Bakehouse

What We're Craving - Cat Footwear - Mr Holmes Bakehouse

Mr Holmes Bakehouse, AKA the birthplace of the cruffin, has become a worldwide hit. Their instagram bio reads “putting carbs back in their place” and we couldn’t agree more. With savory or sweet pastry options and donut fillings that change daily, they’re our go-to carb of choice when in L.A. or San Francisco.
