Casual, News + Updates

We take our craft seriously and appreciate when others approach their field with that same bold attitude. So for National Tequila Day we’re bringing you some of our go-to tequila drinks from craft cocktail bars in our favorite cities.

Grand Rapids

Our local pick, SideBar, is a quaint up-and-coming bar with both classic and original cocktail options. Their expert staff can literally make anything and one of our favorites is The Don Julius. Handcrafted with añejo tequila, Contratto Aperitif, fresh squeezed OJ, vanilla infused maple syrup, cinnamon, and freshly grated nutmeg. It’s like an orange julius but better.

The new kid in Fulton Market, the Ace Hotel, brought it’s own addition to the neighborhood: City Mouse. The collaboration between Giant and the hotel boasts an ever growing menu and seriously delicious cocktails. For National Tequila Day we recommend going with Below The Line, made with plata tequila, vermouth two ways, and lavender, it’s a seriously bold drink.

A tried and true favorite in the West Village, The Garret Bar has some of the best cocktails in the city. If you decide to stick to the menu, we recommend the Hey Girl cocktail made with mezcal, fraise de bois, elderflower liqueur, prosecco, and strawberries. If you’re feeling adventurous the bartender’s choice won’t disappoint, just answer some questions on preference, and a perfectly crafted cocktail will be made for you.

There are a lot of tequila bars in L.A. and for the most part they tend to be pretty good. And then there’s Las Perlas. This downtown spot has over 400 premium agave spirits…yeah, you read that right. You seriously cannot go wrong with any of their menu options. Our summer favorite is La Llorona with watermelon agua fresca, blanco tequila, agave, lime, and mint.
