March 8th is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women.  The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender equality.

Cat Footwear has always made it a point to champion earthmoving women who impact their communities through bold actions and the idea that we all have the power to initiate change.

We’ve partnered with #Earthmovers Alexi Panos and Tennille Amor to support their non-profit organization, E.P.I.C. (Everyday People Initiating Change), which brings clean drinking water and sanitation education to underserved communities in the developing world.  Their work to alleviate the water crisis directly impacts the lives of women in the communities they serve. By building clean wells, it allows the local women and girls more time in their daily lives to attend school or earn a living for their families rather than fetching water from far away streams.

Each year, we also support the United Nation’s “Day of the Girl Child” in October, by donating a portion of our proceeds to a cause that benefits young women and girls.  Most recently, we supported U.S. organization, Fight Like Girls, which was founded by Bre Lasley who is a survivor of a violent attack, to empower young women with resources to fight back.

Our fearless leader, Caterpillar Inc., is a headline sponsor of International Women’s Day, with a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment that values and respects its global employees.  Their vision to continually develop the Best Team–to build innovative solutions and impact the people and communities they serve–goes hand in hand with their pledge to #BeBoldForChange and to drive toward gender equality.
