Whether you’re new to the city or a veteran, you will get to experience all of these gems while living in the urban jungle:
1. Showering in the morning only to have the hot, dirty subway air cancel it out
Petition to have showers in the office bathrooms.
2. Navigating between the sweltering heat of the streets and a basically freezing office
And then the HVAC breaks at work
3. Subway delays because the city grid can’t handle the amount of electricity and now you’re late–wonderful
Public transportation is just SO reliable
4. “Let’s have lunch outside” turns into “Pass the aloe lotion, please”
There may or may not be a small collection of aloe lotion, cooling gels, and everything in between on your desk
5. Momentary blindness becomes an almost daily occurrence when you step outside
The sunglass street vendors are probably raking in that $$$
6. Realizing you forgot to throw your Cat sandals into your work bag
UGH, are you kidding me right now?
7. And having to walk down to that rooftop bar in heels with sweaty and swollen feet
Sans-shoes is an option but city sidewalks are truly questionable
8. Living in eternal stickiness because sweat, ugh
Ew, ew, ew
9. Speaking of sweat–THE SMELLS; hot garbage, stale pee, body odor (deodorant is your new best friend people)
Literally gagging
10. Ice cream is a great idea until it melts all over you before the 2 block walk back to the office
So much for a Monday pick-me-up
11. But we wouldn’t have it any other way
