Great look and good comfort - by , Feb 08, 2019

This has been a good boot and probably been my 12th or more pair of Cat boots so I have been pretty loyal to Cat footwear. The only complaint that I have on this specific pair is that the soles get really hard in cooler weather, even less than 30 degrees. The soles get so hard that it feels like I am walking on ice even if it is plain and clean concrete. So needless to say working in the cold of North Dakota has been pretty risky when the temp is -20. I have never had this issue in my previous pairs of Cats, the soles have always stayed pliable and "soft"

It fits fairly comfortable but the tongue pinches inward and rubs on the foot or ankle area.

Fell Apart Within 4 Months - by , Jan 14, 2019

I bought these boots because my old Timbs were falling apart after about 4 years of heavy use. I wanted to try a different brand, and I needed a good steel toe boot for work, that was waterproof with a good aggressive tread for hiking. The stitching around the ankle started coming apart a few weeks after the 45 day warranty ended. I was able to fix that pretty easy, but it just kept happening in other places. Then yesterday, about 4.5 months after purchasing these boots, one of the loops that holds the lace in broke off. Boots aren't cheap and I really shouldn't have to replace these so soon, as they aren't cheap.

Pretty good for the money - by , Nov 13, 2018

I am an aircraft mechanic in Detroit, Michigan for a living so the boots are subjected to all kinds of weather and aviation fluids.. they hold up pretty well.. not the most comfortable but I always wear 2 pair of socks so it makes up for it.. I have been wearing these for years and usually go through 2 pairs a year.. one pair from spring to fall and another from fall to spring.. if you get the black you can apply shoe polish and they shine up nice if you choose.

The new Alaska 2.0 is OK for the most part. - by , Nov 05, 2018

The Alaska 2.0 is a very good shoe for the most part. The resigned Alaska 2.0 has a new stitching pattern the hits the nerves in the top and side of your foot that requires you to readjust and retie your shoes to keep from having pain. Some one else may not have that problem.

Best boots ever - by , Oct 03, 2018

I purchased a pair of Alaska 1.0 in 2013 when I was on holiday in America. 3 years later they needed to go. I downgraded to normal work shoes, after finding no options for purchase as they had been discontinued. At the start of this 2018, I found out about the Alaska 2.0. They are not for sale in NZ, so I risked it and purchased them online, then had them shipped from the US to NZ. The fit was perfect, they are more comfortable than the Alaska 1.0 and seem lighter. The only negative is that the laces break due to abrasion with the hook type eye, though this happened with the original too and the quality of the boots outweigh this. Overall a brilliant boot

Though these boots were comfortable when I received them as a Christmas present, they did not last. My feet are no longer cushioned and my legs hurt when I wear them. I would have expected at least a year of comfortable use. Very disappointed
