Safety Standards
If you’re not in the know, some of the European Standards for safety shoes can trip you up. We carry 3 options in our work collection, click below to find out how they differ.
SB Safety Standards
SB stands for Safety Basic, but what does that mean exactly? It’s good news for your toes which have full protection against a 200-joule impact – To you and me, that means you’re protected if you accidentally drop up to 20kg on your foot.

You can always put your best foot forward knowing your feet are protected by our legendary
200 joules steel toe caps. Tested to 15 kilonewton compression, which means your feet are
safe for up to one and a half tonnes of resting weight, this resilient technology is even
more robust than our composite toe caps. This resilient technology is even more robust than
our composite toe caps.
The toe type will be referenced in each product name - Steel
(ST) or composite (CT).

Steel toe vs composite toe – not sure which way to go? OK, our composite toe caps are
lighter than steel ones but, tested to withstand 20kg dropped on your toes. they’re no
lightweights when it comes to protection. They’re also completely metal free so they have
the added benefit of not conducting electricity.
The toe type will be referenced in each
product name - Steel (ST) or composite (CT).

All to do with the quality of grip on the outer sole, the SRA standard helps you avoid
slip-ups in the workplace. This certification indicates the footwear has held its own during
rigorous testing on ceramic tile wetted with glycerol and will protect you from the
indignity and potential injury of skidding onto your backside.
The level of slip
resistance will be referenced in the product name - it will be either SRA or SRC.

Keep your feet when all around are losing theirs with our slip-resistant footwear. Tested
on treacherous ceramic tile and smooth steel, with diluted soap solution and glycerol, our
high-grip soles hung on for dear life to attain a slip resistance rating of SRC – the
highest possible safety rating that outsoles can achieve.

will be referenced in the product name - it will be either SRA or SRC.

S3 Safety Standards
S3 is the magic number when it comes to safety shoes and boots. This exacting standard means footwear comes with everything you get with S1P – anti-static, resistance to fuel and oil, energy absorbing heels and a penetration-resistant mid-sole – and, even better, you get water resistance to boot.

Materials
Construction

Goodyear Welt
Unlike most construction methods, the stitching goes from the upper down in to the sole, making it incredibly durable.

Cement
Cemented construction is the method of attaching the sole to the upper. Once the upper is shaped, the sole is attached with an incredibly strong adhesive to secure it.
