Good boots, hopefully great boots (first week experience) First I will say these boots look exactly like the pictures. They have that genuine Cat Footwear look and feel when you pick them up out of the box and you get that feeling of you're holding a REALLY good pair of boots. That is how I have always felt with all 3 Cat Footwear boots I have owned. They are strong, durable boots and have a very unique aspect about them. However I do have some issues with the boots. I received these boots as a gift recently and was glad because after looking at Cat Footwear's new releases I wanted these more than the others. When I first put them on they were not very comfortable but after a day they broke in pretty good and that initial foot compression went away. At first I felt these boots were going to be as good as my last pair of Caterpillar boots (the Generator) but after a couple days of just wearing them casually I felt that wasn't going to happen. I have tried 3 different kind of socks with the boots and so far the only kind that don't bunch up at the toe and run down into the boots are compression socks. My wool and regular white socks bunch up within a few minutes. My feet also sweat after a short time wearing them which is strange because I don't think these boots are insulated. Sweating feet in boots builds odor and makes it more difficult to take the boots off, so I will be buying some anti-odor compression socks to test with the boots soon. My last complaint about the boots is that sitting down in a chair or anywhere with them on is often uncomfortable. I can't seem to find any comfortable position to put my feet in that doesn't irritate my feet in some way and giving me that feeling of "I just want to take these boots off." My last pair of Cat boots were so comfortable I could sleep in them and enjoy it. The irritation is kind of hard to explain, but the best way I can is that they seem to just hug my feet wrong in random places. Its almost as if you're not moving around in them the boots begin to slightly compress on the feet is the best way I know how to describe it. This is just my first week experience with the boots. I want to come back and give an updated review after about 3 months because I feel you need to give boots about that much time before you can really tell how good they are, but I do expect superb quality from Cat Footwear out of the box and these boots did deliver in many areas for that quality.
