Zoe Lazerson is an 18-year-old stylist, photographer, and style influencer, and she is also the Guest Editor for our Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Zoe will be featured on our website in our “How To Style Guide” series, showing you how to wear the latest shoes in our Spring collection.

CF: Where are you from, and how has it impacted your take on fashion? 
ZL: I’m from Orem, Utah. Fashion is so different in Utah. There are so many types of people. I feel like in Utah you can be whatever and dress however you want. People will judge you but that’s totally normal. Just do you. Dress classy, or dress punk, or dress like you just walked out of a music festival. Whatever it is, be it.

CF: At only 18, how did you discover your passion for style and photography? 
ZL: I’m super young, and I’m super passionate. Fashion is one of the best ways a person can express themselves. I’ve met and I see all different personalities. Super empowering and inspiring people. Photography is something different. To be able to capture something inspiring in a still photo amazes me. Yes I do think anyone can take a picture. But you definitely see passion and heart through photos and outfits.

CF: Describe a day in the life of Zoe?
ZL: I never really have a schedule. I love going with the flow. Whether it’s sleeping in and making a yummy breakfast then reading a good book. Or it’s waking up at 8 a.m and getting ready for the day. Mostly I have a photoshoot or something I need to post for a company. It all depends, and I love every second of every day, no matter how hard, how happy, how productive, or how lazy. I love life.

CF: Aside from fashion, what do you like to do in your free time?
ZL: I LOVE to read. I spend a lot of money on books. I have a stack under my record player that I have to read. I’m reading “Into The Wild” right now and it’s super amazing. It makes you want to disappear and discover the world and yourself alone.

CF: What inspires you?
ZL: People who do what they love, and make a living off of it. You can be someone who hates their job and makes a lot of money, or you can be someone who has so much passion about something that they live off of it. I want that. Money doesn’t drive or inspire me.  It amazes me that you can actually make money off what you’re so in love with and crazy about. So, what inspires me are people who are living their life because they love it.

CF: Favorite trend for this Spring?
ZL: I am OBSESSED with summer dresses with sneakers. I can’t get enough. It’s so fun to style a dress with cute pair.

CF: What was the first concert you ever went to?
ZL: First concert I went to was actually a Neon Trees concert. Haha. So awesome though.

CF: What is something that would surprise us about you?
ZL: I am very emotional. I love people and I love relationships. Growing up people tell you that it’ll get to a point where you’ll have three best friends instead of twenty. Although I’m there, I do not think that’s true. I cry for people and I cry for myself. People (besides my best friends) don’t know that because I think crying is weak. But it’s not. You show you care.

CF: Describe your personal style in 3 words?
ZL: Super flowy, free, and comfortable. In the winter, I love being dressed up all the time. My good friend always says “better to be overdressed than underdressed.” And it’s so true! I love classy. But all around I’m a very flowy and comfortable girl.

CF: Our brand ambassadors are #Earthmovers.  Just like Caterpillar equipment physically moves the earth, we look for individuals who are moving the earth in their everyday life.  What does being an Earthmover mean to you?

ZL: To me, being an Earthmover means you should always make the world better! Put positive vibes out, get positive vibes back. Be happy. Life is great.
