Casual

With Thanksgiving not far behind us and December coming in strong, it can be safely said that the holiday season is here. It also happens to be one of our favorite times of the year as we get into the spirit of giving, appreciation, and love.

And of course, putting together our holiday outfits.

For some that means bringing on the sparkle and glam but here at Cat Footwear, we’re built a little more casual. Because we’re deeply driven by our heritage and day-to-day life, it’s only natural for us to keep rockin’ our favorite boots during the holidays, and by now we’ve mastered the art of holiday casual.

If you’re not sure how to wear your boots for the holidays, we’ve taken pages from out of some of our favorite bloggers books and put them together for you with some tips and tricks:

Keep It Plaid:

Plaid is one of our favorite prints to wear year round so it’s a given for the holiday season! Men can dress down a two-piece  suit with a casual plaid jacket (like Diego from Dandy In The Bronx on the left) or swap out the suit pants for dark wash denim. Women can look to Bonnie (from Flashes of Style on the right) for some inspiration. If a leather jacket is too edgy, perhaps a denim jacket or a grey heavy knit cardigan instead.

Neutral Twist:

We’re big fans of taking neutrals to new levels, especially during the holidays. Dat (@datswhatupp) on the left is rockin a classic “all black” look with rolled up pants for added detail. If you want to add some cheer, try fun socks or swap the leather jacket for a patterned sports coat. Nicole (@whatnicolewore) on the right, went with neutral olive pants and used a fridge clutch and cocktail rings for contrast. Throw on a leather jacket or bold earrings for the holiday spirit.

Stripes and Solids:

Sometimes bold can be simple and the details the focus. Ryan (on the left) from Brick and Vine keeps it simple in dark wash denim, white button down, and a square stripe sweater. Add a holiday pattern bow-tie for a funny detail or swap the grey sweater for a red or blue one. Michelle (on the right) from Catching Couture pairs her solids with a striped scarf tucked underneath her belt. Use a scarf or blouse with holiday colors to get into the holiday spirit.
