This week, New York City hosted it’s first ever fashion week dedicated solely to American men’s fashion–following the trend for men’s weeks in all of the other major fashion capitals including London, Paris, and Milan–and Cat Footwear had a presence.

The Kenneth Ning SS16 presentation explored the balance between subversive youth culture and clean tailoring, while being inspired by faraway desert lands.  Ning pulled boots from our work collection including the Shelk and Inherit boots, and altered the laces to add contrast.

Meanwhile, Rio Uribe, the designer of Gypsy Sport, made his debut at New York Fashion Week: Men’s.  Best known for his work creating costumes for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay,  Gypsy Sport’s SS16 collection was best described as “post-apocalyptic athleisure,” by Paper Magazine, “With a mix of materials that spanned everything from basketball net rope and puka shells to mesh and raw denim, to basketball and football uniforms, safari gear, ’90s ravers and more.”  Uribe also went industrial with his vision, using the Streamline Composite Toe work shoe in all 4 colors and the Interface Hi Steel Toe Work Boot for his show.

The week was such a roaring success that it has already been picked up for a second season, currently slated for January 28 – 31, 2016.
