On a trip to London in Sept '08 my knees were killing me from all the walking about. I got a pair of these shoes from a retail shoe store, and fell in love very quickly. These are the most versatile shoes I've ever owned, with excellent support, comfort, grip, and plenty of compliments on their style. They became my everyday shoes. Unlike the other reviewer, I found the exterior to be quite durable. Like another reviewer, the soles wore down after about a year, but with everything else good to go I just had them resoled and they've been good for another 6 months. I'm active and do a lot of traveling and like to go light so during this time these shoes have gone from the gym to the trail to the town. I'm now finally replacing these trusty kicks with a different style of CAT shoe, but have nothing but raves for the Shelk. It's incredible that I've never seen CAT shoes on sale anywhere in the US but that's all the better because they'll set you apart from the crowd.

I bought this shoes 6 months ago and I barely put them on; yet, they look so old and in bad condition. They are comfortable while walking; however, they are not what I expected from a CAT product.

have completely worn out the first pair walking all around the city after about a year of almost daily wear. no problems holding up well, only problem is wear and tear down on soles, much to be expected from normal daily use. ready to buy another pair this time in black. they're comfortable and stylish.

I work in a freezer that is -10 and am an avid hiker. These shoes started off great. I ran by guys at work on the slippery icy concrete floors and could walk almost straight up granite cliffs, but they fell apart on the toe seems after two months and one 18-mile hike. Alot of guys, as I were impressed at first by there traction,but in the end poor quality. I wish CAT would make an insulated boot with this type of traction.
