This is by far the most comfortable boot I have ever had. It is also a very well made boot. Have only had for a few weeks, so will wait to see its longevity, but it should last fairly long. Will probably come back for a replacement pair when the current ones wear out.

These are my third pair of caterpillar boots. Three pair in ten years of the hell I put them through on a daily basis. They have stood up to junkyards, roustabouting, oil rigs, general oil field trucking, and numerous other forms of abuse. They keep me warm and dry in winter, and cool in summer, which in eastern utah is brutal either way you look at it. they are not as pretty as they were when i first bought them, but thats ok. they have been coated in drilling mud, submerged in water, kept me stable on top of a trailer, had sheet metal dropped on them, and hot sparks from welding. i have to say they are extremely uncomfortable for the first week or so, but once you get them broke in they fit like a dream. all in all, caterpillar makes the best boots, as well as the best diesels. its a company i plan on staying with.

I feel sad. I loved these boots. For almost 9 years of near daily beatings. From the welding and metal shop, to wood shop, logging, snow, mud, ice, farm work, and just beating the snot out of them. Leather was partly torn off the steel toe from multiple sheet metal impacts which shoulda' sheared through most steel toe boots. Two days ago my sole ripped off while doing some heavy log work. Not only did I finish up the day walking on really rough stuff, snow, ice, and logs (missing a sole on my left foot), the boot base actually help up long enough for me to wrap things up without tearing it through to my socks, or freezing my foot off. Now, I'm in a dilemma, as I'm doing heavy log work in crazy cold weather for the next few months, and that was to buy another pair of these, or a pair of logging boots. Opted for having the local shop order a 9in pair of logging boots, but I just don't think they will be as "all around kick a$$" as these were. But for the intended purpose I had to. Now I just have to convince myself to buy another pair of these on top of my soon to be new logger boots, and I'll be in heaven. Cat boots don't get near enough representation in logging and worker forums. It's all red wing, etc. A shame, because there are very few reviews out there about boots lasting a decade on the SAME TREAD. I guess the only ones that I have seen to date are from the guys who own Cat boots. So rock on Cat. You guys truly are the best in the biz bar none. Btw... I don't have crazy wide feet, but I take a Wide in cat boots. I suggest they come up with some extra wides for the truly big boys. None the less, after 9 years in these boots, they fit with 2 pairs of socks on for warmth. Shame they died tho, as I woulda' worn them til the soles were as smooth as a baby's butt.
