Best Shoes

I try to be a minimalist. This means I only ever own 1 pair of shoes. One pair of year round, goes everywhere with me shoes. I work full time in a factory and walk a few miles per shift on concrete most nights. I wear my one pair of shoes to work, to go hiking, a night on the town, funerals, etc, etc, etc. As a result my shoes have tended to wear out fast. I've had a pair of skate shoes last only 3 months, most shoes cannot survive 6 months. Then I stumbled across these. Game changer! This is the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. I see other reviews saying the steel pinches toes; maybe this is a sizing issue? I tried on 10.5's and 11's; the 10's did pinch a little but the 11's fit like a dream. Durability/Longevity: The Brode lasted me a few months longer than a year before the side of one shoe was breached slightly. I could probably stretch out their life if it weren't winter. Comfort: Dang. These shoes (especially when combined with custom insoles) are amazing. I wear them in the middle of summer instead of sandals (beach being the only exception). They don't breathe all that well in 90+ degree temps, but my feet have never felt better. Style: This is the least important feature of shoes for me, but if a shoe doesn't look like garbage that's bonus points in my book. These look slick, somewhat like a skate shoe. I've gotten numerous comments/compliments on them. I'm sorry to see others had bad luck with theirs, and was really quite surprised. I've never been happier with a purchase. Grats to you CAT for making a comfy steel toe that has more than double the durability of any other shoe I have ever worn. One critique: The ONLY downside I experienced is that within a very short amount of time the steel accumulated some oxidation and rusted on the inside; every one of my socks now has an orange/brown stain over 1-2 toes. Not a big deal in my book, but might annoy some people.

Granted, for the most part I use these shoes inside plants and facilities (or my office) but for me, they're as comfortable as a normal pair of sneaks. A standard steel toe boot causes me pain and callouses. These do not.

I exchanged the Neder shoe because the sole was separating for the Brode Steel toe. At first it was pretty comfortable, but in the last month the Brode Steel toe has been wearing on the outside of my toes. They also pich my toes when I bend my feet to kneel down. I have 7 other pairs of CAT boots with steel ltoe and LOVE them. They dont pich my toes like these do.
