I am happy to report that the design flaw noted in the review by Josh77, dated 9/20/2011, having to do with a faulty seam has been corrected. The only (VERY minor) negative I noticed is that the brown leather depicted in the picture is actually much darker than shown, nearly a black walnut in color. I highly recommend these boots--they are extremely comfortable, waterproof as advertised and, with wool socks over silk liners, keep your feet pleasantly warm in the most frigid of temperatures.

I bought a pair of these boot they lasted 2 months before a seam on the side of the boots pulled apart and left a 1/4 inch gap from the eyelet down to the sole of the boot. It did this on both boots, called up CAT they were good about replaceing them. The replacement pair lasted a week before the same seam started to tear. I would not recommend these boots their has to be a flaw either in the design or stitching.

I recently bought a pair of Flexion 6" boots. I had previously tried a pair on at a store locally near my place of employment. I thought these would be a good, cost effective replacement for my Redwings. I was wrong. These boots made my feet tried and soar. I've since removed the thin insert and replaced it with another insole. This works for about two or three hours. Job description: Product Test Technician. Lots of walking on concrete / ashphalt, bending in & out of differnt types of vehicles. Overall: If you have something that works, stick with it. I think I will be going back to the Redwings. I've had many good years of experience with them. ScottnMichigan
