boots arrived early, fit good, look good. I wished they still had black in this style and the eyelet hooks for the laces are a bit narrow, but no real problem, just different. I have always bought caterpiller boots and they will last you about 15 years or so. That's been my average. I've been in the construction field my whole life. Roofing, electrical, insulation, framing, mud,snow,water.120 degree heat, ridin' the arizona roads on my harley, the boots held-up well. You'll like em', so go get a pair, you'll be glad you did......

Let me start by saying I was not kind to these boots. I wore them every day, in the office or in the field, nice weather, rain, snow, mud...90F to -30, and they took it well. After about 4-5 months, the tounge started to seperate at the seams between materials, and the padded collar tore away from the upper shell. I wore the boots for about 1.5 years mostly on construction sites, and they still get worn when needed. The biggest problem I had with them is the way the eyelets were designed. I wear my boots tight, and wear through a set of laces in about 2 months. The laces scrape on the edges of the eyelet at the top, and become weak. I plan on purchasing another pair of Cat boots, but will probably change to the Alaska style.

First off, i want start by saying i LOVE cat boots, i have worn them since i was a teenager back in the UK. When i first moved over here i couldn't find a store with anywhere near the selection i was used to. So i ended up trying different brands, timberland, redwing, you name it i probably tried it, they were ok and all had the good and bad points, but they werent my beloved cats! Well here about 4 years ago i found a cat store who could order any style cat i could find on this site, it was one of the happiest days of my life, I have never looked back. Cats are, and will continue to be the only work boots you will see on my feet! Now to this boot, extremely comfortable (well again it is a cat!) all in all i have put the boot through so much abuse its not even funny, i am an industrial electrician and so my boot sees all kinds of chemicals and conditions and never skips a beat. the leather after two years is beginning to show its age, but no signs or cracking or tearing, just a little scuffed up and few deep scratches here and there. awesome, awesome boot! The only reason i took off a star was because, and i believe i am not alone here, but about 5 months after getting the boots, one day my foot got wet when i went through a puddle that i usually walk through with no problems. i found that the material they used for the tongue had dried up and cracked! i called my distributor who were no real help, sadly, so i persevered, couple of weeks later the other boot went the same way, so sadly now i have to try and avoid puddles or work all day with a wet foot! maybe they could look into using a different material / cut of leather in the tongue area as it seems to be a common issue with this particular boot? i will have to try and find an alternative (still cat though) to this boot for my imminent purchase, as i hate wet feet! lol shame as otherwise i cannot recommend this boot enough!!!
CatFootwear's Reply: With all that your boots have gone through, I do not think water leaking in should be a problem for you to experience. We will be in contact with you very soon to take care of this matter. Thanks for all of your support!
